Do you know that six billion videos were viewed in January 2009 on YouTube and according to Wikipedia, "It is estimated that twenty hours of new videos are uploaded to the site every minute..." Today YouTube is the fourth most visited website on the Internet according to Alexa.
What does this mean to you? Get yourself and your business on YouTube! Repurpose your blog posts into videos and put them on YouTube as well as your blog. Does this mean you have to have your face on a video? Not at all. It would be nice for people to be able to see you to get to know, like and trust you but it isn't totally necessary. Do screen captures or slide presentations narrated by you and it will have nearly the same effect. But with so many computers sporting built-in webcams and the advent of inexpensive video cameras, there is almost no excuse for not putting You on YouTube.
There is a free program that will let you do screen capture and slide shows and it's called CamStudio. This is a light version of the powerful Camtasia Studio but will do simple videos with no problem. If you want to create slides, you will need PowerPoint but if you don't have that software, do some screen captures teaching your viewers how to do something or showing them something they want to know more about.
If you don't put your own videos up on YouTube you are leaving money on the table. And why do that when creating videos has never been easier?
