In this SEO short tutorial I will explain you how to optimize your web page content.
The most important think is to choose your keywords. Is good to choose a maximum of 3 keywords. Let's say you choose: "SEO short tutorial", "SEO good tutorial" and "SEO free tutorial".
Now you must fallow some steps for a good optimized web page.
Step 1 - Choose a title for the web page
The page title should include only the main keywords. In our case a perfect title could be:
SEO short tutorial | Free good SEO tutorial
You must notice some things: I have eliminated all the "ands". I replaced an "and" with the character "|". This character is located on the keyboard above the "enter" key. Also I combined the keywords "SEO good tutorial" with "SEO free tutorial".
Step 2 - Add "h1" tag
You need to add a "h1" tag and place your most important keyword there. A perfect "h1" tag for our example would be: SEO short tutorial. You can think at this tag as a title of whatever content you have on your page.
The "h1" tag should be as far towards the top left hand side of the page as possible. When Google reads a webpage, it views the text from the top left hand side of the page, and then follows down to the bottom right hand side of the page. So, it's best to place your h1 tag on the top left hand or top/middle portion of your page.
Step 3 - Add "h2" tag
Next, we'll need to create an "h2" header tag. You can think at this as a sub heading for our webpage. You should place your 2nd most important keyword in the "h2" header tag. The "h2" tag should be placed somewhere towards the top half of your webpage. A perfect "h2" tag for our example would be: SEO good tutorial.
Step 4 - Create the content for the page
Now we need to create the content for our webpage. When writing the content, try to evenly sprinkle your main keywords throughout the copy.
IMPORTANT: IF you simply repeat your main keyword like this: "a SEO short tutorial about a SEO short tutorial and a SEO short tutorial", Google will see your website as search engine spam and you will not rank well.
Try to mention each keyword in a natural way as you are writing, but be sure to include at least one of the keywords per 1-2 paragraphs, depending on how large your page is.
Step 5 - Bold, Italic, Underline
After you've finished writing the copy, you should go through and bold, underline, or italicize some of the keywords only 1 time each, maximum. Only do 1 per keyword.
Step 6 - Include "alt" tag
It is very good to have an image at the very top of the webpage and add an "alt" tag to it with your main keyword.
