With the launch of Windows 10 technical preview, the Windows users must have successfully managed to get the invitation in order to test the technical preview in their devices. But have you been left out because you are a Mac user? This article will present you the tips on how you can run the latest Windows OS on your Mac system that too for free.

Microsoft's latest operating system Windows 10 was one of the much-awaited OS for the year 2014-15. Undoubtedly Windows users were all excited to check out the technical preview of the latest Windows update version as they will be using it very soon. Some or other way, the interested Windows users got their hands on the latest Windows update. But Mac users, despite being interested, couldn't get the invitation for the one fair reason that they are Mac users.

However, worry not as it is possible to install Windows on Mac PC. So even if you are a Mac OSX user and want to check out the new Windows Technical Preview in your system, you can easily do it for free. You just need to install a VirtualBox.

Follow the steps given below to get your thing done:

• Sign up for the Technical Preview of Windows 10

• Here you will get access to a product key and the.ISO downloads you require

• If you have the product key already, then download the.ISO files directly from Microsoft

• Next, download and install VirtualBox

• Open the VirtualBox and here, click 'New' to create a new Virtual Machine

• Name the machine as per your choice

• You will notice a list of operating systems available for download

• Here choose either Windows 8.1 (64 bit) or Windows 8.1 (32 bit)

• Follow the wizard instructions to complete the virtual machine setup

• Once the setup process completes, your virtual machine will appear on the left-hand-side (it will bear the name given by you).

• Click on the virtual machine.

• Then, select Storage.

• Next, select Controller: IDE.

• Just beside the Controller: IDE, click on the first '+' sign icon that reads 'Add CD/DVD Device.'

• Select Disk.

• Look for the Windows 10 download file

.

• Click OK.

• Click 'Start' to open the virtual machine.

• Again a wizard will appear and guide you with the Windows installation process.

That's all, and you will be able to run Windows technical preview installed in a virtual machine within your Mac OSX device. You can try using the new Windows update OS to check whether you will like to have a Windows device as well. If you are a software or app developer and want to test your app on Windows OS, then also, you can use this window to install a virtual machine effectively.

However, there are some points you require keeping in mind. Windows 10 is pre-release software thus things might or probably will go wrong. The upside is that you have installed the technical preview in a virtual machine so even if things go wrong it won't cause any problem to your parent OS, i.e., Mac OSX. Also, some graphical features of the latest Microsoft OS might not be available currently, and performance can be little slow as your hardware will be supporting two operating systems simultaneously. When the actual version of Windows OS will get released then also you will be able to run it in your virtual machine within your Mac system using the same method.
